Crystalline City

Board Threads Posts Last Post
No New Posts Pennimen Square

Bustling with livelihood yet corruption, the marketplace is almost always occupied; regular bustling markets by day, secretive taboo marketers by night, although perhaps not so plentiful. Planted practically in the middle of the wealthier of the cities, a variety of existences learned to coexist in order to thrive business-wise.

No New Posts Noble Castle

The castle is easily the most dominating structure of the city. It stands almost separate from the city- the entrance gate leading you up a slight incline across the massive yard, depositing you into the roundabout at the doors- Three, to be exact. One to each individual family. Upon entering any of the doors, you're greeted by a grand staircase, and a housemember- who promptly takes down your name and business before checking any papers and bringing you to the area specified. Though the houses are separated in the castle- all share the massive ball room, and the garden.

No New Posts Red Moon park

One of the few areas in the city to have natural greenery, the park is massive; The entrance itself a large cast-iron gate with the name of the park spelled out in the metal sitting atop in an arch-like fashion. Littered with trees and jogging paths, it makes for a pleasant place to have picnics or laze about. There are some duck ponds, and a large playground to keep children entertained. Most of the room, though, is taken up by a hedge maze. Throughout it, benches are placed for resting or relaxing- leading you into the middle where a decorative fountain sits, coins shimmering from beneath the waters surface. It's a rare occurrence for anything overly exciting in the park, as its open area provides easy line of sight from patrolling guards, but it has its days.

Excluding the economy from Pennimen Square, the greatest tourist attraction of Crystalline City has to be its massive, beautiful fountain. Located only a little ways away from the marketplace, it towers above most people at sixteen feet high and twenty-two feet in diameter. It is made of a glass-like material, only stronger, and is tinted a beautiful but light crimson, earning it, its name. The sculpture on the fountain is a noble standing on a breaching orca's head; in the noble's arms rests an apparently unconscious wolf. Water trickles from the wolf's and whale's open mouths, and it sprays upward from the whale's blowhole. The red tint gives the water itself a hint of crimson. The site is beautiful to the humans, but unsettling at the same time to animals, mainly wolves and their animal kingdom's families.

According to most people, the name itself sounds like a laxative - which makes sense, doesn't it? It is, after all, the bad side of the city; this is where the much more serious crimes and taboo dealers head when Pennimen Square is too soft for them. While the side of the city is not as run-down as Alton City, the quality is a massive shift compared to the luxury that Crystalline City normally exerts. Crime runs more rampant here than even in Alton City.

Alton City

No New Posts Oaken Bay

With a rather single-colored appearance, these run-down apartment complexes give off the vibe of their true nature; the fact that they are for those that are not well off in life. The size is nowhere near impressive, although it can be quaint. The quality is reflected through the rather bland shades of brown and tan; they are only decent, nothing luxurious.

This club, though run down and filled with most company one would not like to affiliate with, has a decent layout. A large dance floor, surrounding the DJ station, is the first scene to greet you. Veering off to either the right or the left will bring you up and down steps, accommodating tables and making more room by 'layering' them at different height levels. Beyond the seats, the floor levels out and pans to a more diner-esque feel, where one can order food or drinks. One door, though, catches everyones eye. It's outlined by extravagant neon lights twisted into curly designs. This is the VIP room; for when looking at the girls hanging from the cages, or swinging from the poles located in the middle of each table, simply isn't enough. The only thing the patrons generally complain about is the thick smoke that hangs in the air, and the fact the place is only open from 6:30pm-4:30am.

No New Posts The Alton Badlands

the badlands of Alton city are littered with the rubble of the crumbling and fallen buildings. Only the most desperate of souls seek shelter here, amongst the wild animals that often times are forced to call this place their home. There is little greenry growing up and through the dusty ground, the occasional vine draping over slabs of concrete signs that the area was long abandoned. Whether due to a natural disaster, or from something else, nobody has records of.

No New Posts The Great Meadow

On the borders of the City, the Great Meadow stretches far, its farthest reaches bordering the Dead Forest, the rest leading on into the Wastelands, and bordering the desolate Alton City. Though there is a trail or two to be seen that crosses the vast expanse of brittle and dead grass, they are often left untraveled by the two-legged; the humans having long abandoned their need for walking through it.

No New Posts The Forest of Death

Far from the reaches of the City, On the far side of the barren and dead meadow, lies the Forest of Death. The stories of how this forest got it's name are heard far and wide. No form of machinery works beyond the line and dense and dying trees, and no scents for the animals to follow lie inside. There are countless trails twisting through the dead undergrowth, swinging and looping over themselves, leading to nowhere in particular. Scarcely any light shines through the dense canopy, and no water can be found. Should you venture far into the forest, Trails seems to multiply, and scatter into a variety of mind-numbing directions. The only source of life seems to be the unusually large insects that dot the area here and there, and some say they can hear an owl flapping it's wings if you listen closely enough. No creature in their right mind would dare enter the forest, unless a slow and painful suicide is what they were looking for. Anyone entering the forest does not tend to come back out, Alive.

No New Posts The Lakes of Ameril

Deep within Paradise lie a large string of ponds, each connected to the other by small creeks that babble so gracefully through the sodden soil. The waters however, serene as they may seem, hold a sinister crimson hue. As though they have been stained forever scarlet by the light cast by the same scarlet moon that hovers eerily still on the reflections of the water, always casting a strange glow upon the clearings the lakes are settled in, and even tinting the eternal fog that hovers around their banks a pale crimson. Despite the bizarre appearance of the lakes, the animals still flock here in search of water and even prey. Some remain wary of the nearly spectral mists that snake from the banks into the forest, and others bravely call the are home.

No New Posts The Wasteland

Much like the badlands of Alton, this vast and uninhabited area seems to stretch for as far as the eye can see. The sand has cracked from the lack of moisture and plant life to heal the soil of the suns blistering rays, only shrubbery that appears burned specking the dirt every now and again. Some say there is a field beyond it- where the grass grows green and the water and food are plentiful. Whether there is any truth to this claim- nobody is for certain. No sane creature has dared to venture the terrain for more than a mile.

No New Posts The Crystalline Beach

Despite the seemingly glamorous name, the beach is not what one would expect. Crags of rock litter the shoreline- leaving very little sand to be had. The waves crash and churn violently against the rocks when the tide is high, and the stone is only buffeted again by the strong sea-wind when the tide is out. Needless to say, they are rubbed smooth, and are slick from the algae- making them dangerous to climb upon. Despite the beach itself not being very pretty, the scenery of the sunset sinking below the waves is the only redeeming factor the beach has got going for itself.
